The role:
This is a newly created role, at an exciting time for the service. After delivering significant improvement following a major review of youth services in 2020, we are now moving into the next phase of development. This role will be responsible for the delivery of the council’s youth engagement and participation initiatives such as the Youth Parliament, which has been set up to ensure young people's voices are heard, and the Southwark Young Advisors who are recruited and trained to deliver work as young consultants for the council and other local partners.
It will do so by reaching to a broad range of young people to involve them in shaping and improving council services and strategies, and being involved in relevant service delivery projects, with a strong focus on inclusive engagement and connecting young people to build resilience in communities.

About You:
The post holder will have in-depth knowledge of youth engagement and project management and can successfully work with both external and internal partners, with very strong project management skills. They will be an active champion for young people, advocating for and ensuring that they are heard and understood as provision for them in the borough is developed. Their passion and enthusiasm for the delivery of excellent services will be matched by experience of delivering successful youth engagement projects.
