Technology and Digital Services sits within the Customer Experience division of the Housing department.

The Web Content Officer role is responsible for assisting with the design, development, maintenance and iterative improvement of the council’s web-services.

 

The Role:

The Web Content Officer will be curious by nature, this is not a highly technical role, but requires someone who can think about process and structure – how does information and content flow across our website.

Championing user-focused content and service design, the post holder will work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the council to develop user-centric web services. This includes the creation of, or change to a transaction, product or content and stretches across digital and, where appropriate, offline channels.

Using evidence, data, user feedback and research, the Web Content Officer will create high-quality, user-focused content and easy to use online services.

 

About You:

The right candidate will bring a wealth of understanding around user centric design and content. You will show you understand the content will engage our customers and what process flows will allow customers to have the maximum positive experience of our website. You will have excellent project management skills, and be able to manage multiple projects at any one given point in time with a structured method, clear processes and regular reporting to stakeholders.

The Web Content Officer will need to show they have excellent communication skills, you will be influencing and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels. We want to see the ability to use Content Management Systems and generating web specific content. We also want to see a focus on user centric design.

Additional Information:

The basic working hours for this role is 36 per week.

This role can be offered on a Fixed term contract for 1 year and part time permanent basis.

Candidates should be aware that there is a requirement to attend meetings outside normal working hours wherever this is necessary for the effective performance of the job.
