The Role:
The Community Safety & Partnerships Team is looking to recruit a Project Officer to support the work of the Safer Communities Team in implementing and delivering the council priorities in the area of violence against women and girls (VAWG) as set out in the Community Safety Partnership Plan, Council’s Borough Plan, and Council VAWG Strategy. The role will also support the implementation and delivery of the new statutory requirement under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. This will include supporting existing projects and developing new projects in the area of Violence Against Women and Girls and Women’s Safety.
The post holder will be required to do the following:
- To support implementation and delivery of new statutory requirements under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021
- To support and develop existing VAWG projects
- To develop new project proposals in response to Community Safety Partnership (CSP) and Council VAWG priorities
- To undertake research on new and developing issues; gathering information and intelligence; preparing reports identifying issues and recommendations for management, CSP sub groups or other forum.
- Support delivery if the Council’s 5 year VAWG Strategy and associated delivery plan
About You:
Previous experience in this area is not essential, however previous experience of working in the area of violence against women and girls will be of benefit. Good planning and organisational skills are also beneficial to this role.

Additional Information:
- Fixed term contract for 12 months
- The successful candidate will require security clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly CRB).
