The role
The Travel Assistance Team is a specialist team providing travel assistance to eligible children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) to get to their place of education, which is a statutory duty. We currently have almost 700 children/young people that we assist, working in a dynamic environment taking account of changes both in the law and Government guidance.
We are now looking for an experienced proactive team member to work across the team, helping with a variety of administrative duties. You will need to be able to ‘hit the ground running’ and want to fully contribute to making the service we provide the best it can be, including putting forward ideas for improving the existing procedures.
This is a customer-facing role, requiring the ability to provide excellent customer service and care to a variety of Stakeholders, including parents and schools, as well as providing information for internal colleagues, which may include reports and presentations. The number of SEND children and young people that we are assisting is constantly increasing and it is vital that we monitor these changes, which is another area the post holder will be expected to contribute to.
If you are an individual who always aims to provide an excellent service and is willing to learn and adapt where necessary, we would like to hear from you.
