- Willing to work towards English and Maths qualifications whilst on the apprenticeship*

- GCSE requirements or equivalent qualification level*

*GCSE qualification requirements will vary depending upon apprenticeship level

*English and Maths qualifications are a mandatory element of an apprenticeship if not held as a GCSE upon enrolment.

The Role:

The CIL and Section 106 team exists to ensure that the obligations and contributions developers agree to make and owe to the Council are paid. These can be financial or in kind. They are the main way in which development has a positive impact for all of Southwark's residents. This work is very important. The team also enforces breaches of planning control to ensure that development accords with the law and the planning policies adopted by Southwark Council. This work is vital to upholding the integrity of the planning control system.

This is a new post to assist the team in providing planning expertise and assessment and applying this primarily to the assessment of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and obligations resulting from section 106 agreements (s106), also the demand and recovery of sums and obligations owed. You may also be required to investigate possible breaches of planning control, assess planning applications, preparation of planning policy and guidance or other activities related to the town planning service.

The apprenticeship pathway you will be completing will be Chartered Town Planner Level 7 - (60 months)

About You:

You will be a strong communicator, methodical and with an attention to detail. You will show an ability to adapt and learn new skills and the ability to be able to study for a Town Planning degree as part of this role.
