The Role:
Southwark Council are recruiting a Support Co-ordinator to work at our innovative Resource Centre, based in Walworth in South East London. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your management and leadership skills. You will work with other Service Co-ordinators and our Centre Manager in providing stimulating day-care opportunities to a broad range of adults and older people with physical, emotional, sensory and/or learning disabilities. We are looking for a dynamic leader who shares our vision and passion for wanting the very best for our residents and who want to make a real difference.
This role will focus on overseeing and managing bespoke and meaningful activities, either 1:1 or in a group setting. You will be responsible for supervising and managing Grade 7 Independent Living Facilitators. Our Service Co-ordinators are instrumental in planning and reviewing these activities in meeting agreed outcomes for our residents. All referrals into the centre are made by our Social Worker operational teams. Some of our clients have complex needs that requires knowledge of moving and handling, personal care needs and medication management. Regular training is provided.

Our Resource Centre is a community hub that is open to the wider community, provides information, advice and support to all of our community partners, including Health colleagues, the Community Voluntary Sector and volunteers.
About You:
You must have experience of working with clients with physical disabilities, preferably in an Adult Social Care setting. Knowledge of the Care Act is an advantage.
You will have a proven track record of implementing and reviewing high quality, flexible, person-centred care, tailored to individual needs.
You will have at least 2 years’ experience of managing staff, monitoring and managing performance. To promote staff development and training opportunities.
To demonstrate robust Health & Safety practices and risk management approaches to your work. To follow and implement the departments Safeguarding policies and procedures.
You will demonstrate Equality and Diversity and ensure you are familiar with our Southwark Stands Together and Working Race Equality Standards programme.
