About the Role:

An exciting opportunity awaits for a motivated and creative social worker to join the Mental Health Care and Support Team (MHCAST) at Southwark Council. As a member of our supportive team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting independence and social inclusion for adults with mental health needs. Your work will be grounded in the principles of the Care Act 2014, focusing on person-centred care, holistic assessments, and strengths-based interventions.

In this role, you will undertake comprehensive social care assessments, manage complex cases, and develop tailored support plans aimed at enhancing the wellbeing and autonomy of service users. Your responsibilities will also include participating in safeguarding investigations and collaborating with multi-agency professionals to deliver integrated care. This position offers an excellent opportunity for continuous professional development, with access to specialised training in safeguarding, mental capacity, and complex case management.

About You:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced social worker who is passionate about supporting adults with mental illness. You will bring a strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, particularly in relation to assessment, support planning, and promoting independence through holistic and strengths-based approaches.

Your ability to build and maintain effective relationships with service users, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams will be crucial in ensuring the best outcomes for those under your care. We are seeking someone who is skilled in managing complex caseloads, conducting risk assessments, and working collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.

Additional details

- Full-time, 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday

- Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England
