The Role

Our most vulnerable residents living in the Borough of Southwark need Social Care workers to care for them now, more than ever. We need your help so that our residents  can continue to be provided for and cared for as usual during this difficult time, as extra demand is placed on all our services across the Council.

- Are you looking to further your knowledge and experience, having completed your ASYE year?
- Are you at the peak of your career in social work in a senior role?
- Are you a retired or ex-social worker?

You can all make a difference!

Please apply online today.

We can offer a range of flexible contracts, permanent and fixed term to suit you, plus a fast-track DBS* during your on-boarding.

For further information, please email: recruitment@southwark.gov.uk  or visit https://jobs.theguardian.com/minisites/southwark-council/ to find out about our benefits and life at Southwark.

We already have a selfless and dedicated team working on the front line every day. We are hugely grateful for their energy and commitment and the service is doing everything they can to keep them safe.

*The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) have temporarily put a fast-track service in place for social care workers being recruited in connection with the provision of care and treatment in response to Covid-19. This doesn’t apply if you already have a DBS on the Update Service.

Southwark Council is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. We are long standing members of the Disability Confident Employer scheme and the Business Disability Forum. Diversity and inclusion are the driving force behind our #greatsouthwarkteams. We have many internal employee resource groups, including LGBTQ and Women’s groups that are supported by the Council. We recognise that the diversity of our workforce and our communities is a strength; we value the differences between people and the ways that those differences can contribute to a richer, creative and more productive work environment.
