About the Role

You must be a registered social worker and have a passion for social work values and standards. Working closely with the Principal Social Worker for Adults, you will have a key role in driving excellence in social work and supporting the modernisation of our workforce.
The main purposes of this role include the development and delivery of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) for Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) and the new Social Work Degree Apprenticeship programme in line with local and national requirements. The Social Work Development Lead is to keep up to date with regional and national innovations in service provision and models of best practice, and to contribute to the implementation of local initiatives that accord with the wider corporate strategy.
About You
This is an exciting time for a qualified and experienced social worker to work on key priorities including the review of Adult Social Care training needs analysis, the wider review of training in preparation for Liberty Protection Safeguards, and the implementation of strengths-based practice in Adult Social Care and across the Council. You will assist the PSW in leading the Southwark adult social work workforce to meet the requirements of the Professional Capabilities Framework and other professional requirements for registration with Social Work England in respect of practice standards, conduct and professional development.
