The role

 

The Social Work Development and Learning Lead supports social workers across the children and families division as they progress through their social work career.

The Social Work Development and Learning Leads support students on placements, the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship, Newly Qualified Social Workers through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, International Social Workers and colleagues returning to Social Work Practice.

We have an established, well-respected ASYE programme that supports early career social workers in developing outstanding social work practice and we will continue to develop outstanding social workers in Southwark when we transition from the ASYE programme to the Early Career Framework in or around 2026.

The Social Work Development and Learning Leads will be responsible a lead area of support, but will collaborate with their peers across all of the pathways.

This is an important and influential opportunity based within Southwark’s Quality Assurance Unit. This role is a fixed term 24 month role and will focus on establishing the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship Pathway.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of the early career support and development strategy.

Additional details

Salary range: £51,099 - £58,197 per annum.

Contract type: Fixed Term for 24 months
