The role

The Role:
We are seeking a Social Work Advanced Practitioner (Accommodations Project) to join the Learning Disability Service based in Adult Social Care. This role focuses on the accommodation strategy for adults with learning disabilities. The role will play a key role in the establishment of new  services offering accommodation based support, and will undertake 'move on' work to ensure the most effective use of local accommodation resources.

About you:
You must be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England to apply for this role, with experience of being a case working within a social services department.

Knowledge of legislation and social care practices is important, in particular, knowledge and experience of processes underpinning 'move on' work; such as applications to Court of Protection. Knowledge of technology enabled care and its use to support people with learning disabilities would also be useful.

Having the ability to take a leadership role, make decisions and work well with partners such as providers, housing agencies and other social care departments would also be essential. Project management skills and a good understanding of project management tools such as excel would be useful for this role.

Interviews and assessments may take place remotely via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, but as a frontline role, the successful candidate will be expected to attend the office and other community settings, including service users homes and placements once in post.
