What does a Social Media & Marketing Manager do at Southwark Council?

As our Social Media & Marketing Manager in our newly established resourcing function, you’ll use your skills to help us attract top talent and position Southwark as an employer of choice.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and elevate our employer brand, leading the design and delivery of recruitment marketing campaigns that enable hiring managers to attract the very best talent.

You’ll be tasked with developing a social media presence that reflects our ambition to be an ever-more inclusive, anti-racist employer, engaging specific audiences that reflects the diversity of our local community. Everything you do will grow our brand reputation, support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, whilst aligning with our broader corporate brand.

The role extends to managing relationships with key stakeholders/ partners, measuring ROI from advertising and recruitment campaigns, and enhancing the council’s online presence on platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed.

 

 

 

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for someone with proven experience in social media management, marketing, and employer branding. Your expertise will include designing and delivering successful marketing campaigns, with a strong understanding of how to measure ROI. Additionally, your excellent communication and collaborations skills will be critical to your success in this role.

To be considered for this role, you must be able to evidence the following skills & experience within your application:

  • Leading the design and delivery of social media and marketing campaigns
  • Providing a proactive, customer-focused service
  • Managing multiple projects within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Managing an organisation's online presence (e.g. careers pages, microsites, social media, Indeed/ Glassdoor)
