The role:

The Council is continuing a programme of modernisation and change to deliver on a number of key objectives with the aim of facilitating the Council in moving to become a modern, customer oriented organisation.
The focus for the role is continuous service improvement and customer service excellence in a front facing customer service environment.
To provide excellent customer service by handling customer transactions across the range of council services, ensuring they are comprehensively resolved.
To work with customers who visit the  Service Point in the borough and respond to enquiries, concerns or requests.

About you:

You will have;

Knowledge of working in a customer services environment in a local government environment. 

Effective interpersonal skills

Experience of working as part of a team and developing effective relationships.

Experience of using various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite. 

An understanding of various welfare benefits including housing benefits, council tax reduction and universal credit.

Experience of providing immediate health and safety assistance in the work place environment. 

A motivation to assist various members of public; vulnerable, elderly and digitally excluded customers.
