As a Service Manager at Southwark Council, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimising our engineering infrastructure and workshop operations. You will design, deliver, manage, and maintain infrastructure while coordinating operational services and contractors to ensure efficient and effective asset management. Your leadership and expertise will be crucial in driving our mission forward.
Asset Management Services sits within the Traded Services Division of the Environment, Neighbourhoods, and Growth Department. This division encompasses a range of services positively impacting residents and borough users, including play equipment repairs, manufacturing steel products, decorative lighting installation, pest control services, and fleet management. The role involves working within the geographical area of existing or new contracts, which may extend beyond borough boundaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently managing and allocate service resources, ensuring effective planning, development, organization, and prioritization of workloads across the team
- Support the management of staff, fleet, plant, equipment, and materials. Set targets, monitor performance, attendance, and conduct
- Overseeing the training and development of staff, including CPD, objective and target setting, and delivery of work plans
- Monitoring and implement health & safety protocols for operatives
- Assisting in monitoring and evaluating service activities to ensure proper planning and scheduling
- Promoting and delivering a customer-centred service that is responsive to internal and external needs
