The role

An exciting strategic leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced social work or occupational therapist manager to join the Adult Social Care Mental Health Services in Southwark.

As Service Manager you will be responsible for the management of the long term social care mental health teams, including our Care and Support Team, Move on Support Team, and Substance Misuse Rehabilitation Team. These teams work with adults (and their carers) with eligible needs; supporting them to access services which maximise their independence and choice, enabling them to live health, safe and fulfilling lives. The post holder is expected to provide leadership and expert practice implementation through the Team Managers, and through building partnerships with other agencies and voluntary organisations to achieve this aim.

We are looking for a skilled manager who has experience leading a community based adult social care service; including managing budgets, developing and implementing service plans, policies and procedures, and effective change management to undertake this role. Experience and knowledge of safeguarding adults and AMHP and BIA practices is also essential for this role. As well as knowledge and understanding of current legislation and research in social work; in particular mental health.
