Our Children’s Social Care department is looking for a passionate and dedicated Service Manager to join our Assessment and Intervention Service (A&I) and help make a positive difference for children in Southwark!
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced, driven and creative leader to guide our fast paced A&I Service from good to outstanding.
To support this ambition, we are well resourced with an embedded Clinical Service, an internal Family Group Conference Service, Parent Advocates, a Family Council and Family Support Workers who work directly with families to provide help and support to keep children safe within their families.
Additionally, we offer an excellent Quality Assurance service with a dedicated Audit and Learning Partner and a quarterly celebration of learning, which we call Learningfest.
As a Service Manager, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to provide excellent service to all vulnerable children, young people and their families in Southwark. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader to guide social work practice with children and families.
Based in Peckham, you will work with the Head of Service to provide leadership to your team and ensure our practice system enables excellent work with families.
About you:
This role requires a visible leader with high expectations and a results focused approach, supported by well-developed analytical planning, excellent practice knowledge, and strong organisational skills. You will encourage and instil a reflective, restorative and open culture with high support and high challenge.
You will have experience managing operational teams within children's social care and a genuine commitment to providing high quality services for children and young people. Your expertise will enable high quality assessments and interventions, ensuring families receive the right help, at the right time, in the right place.
A commitment to systemic ways of working, restorative approaches and freeing practitioners to spend more time with children and their families is vital. Knowledge and experience of supporting families under child in need, child protection and legal frameworks are essential.
We are looking for a manager who can set objectives, develop plans and allocate resources to achieve demonstrably improved outcomes for families. An experienced operational manager who has managed teams within Children's Social Care, with a genuine commitment to the provision of high-quality services for children and young people, will thrive in this role.
