The role

Support Services is pleased to offer a 12 month secondment/fixed term opportunity for the role of Service Development Officer.

Service development within Customer Services and Exchequer plays a crucial role in supporting operational and service delivery across the division. Taking the lead to source and implement new ways of working, with a focus on new technology and value for money, the successful candidate will be a forward thinking individual with a strategic and methodical approach to service improvement and delivery.

About you:

We are seeking people who:

- Has ability to work independently, with a high level of creativity, within broad instructions and objectives;

- Is strategic thinking with knowledge of project management;

- Has the ability to undertake detailed research to produce, collate and disseminate management and service information;

- Has good working knowledge of statistical applications (e.g. Excel, PowerBI) and report writing, demonstrating excellent oral and written presentation skills;

- Is highly effective communicator, influencer and negotiator with experience of working with key stakeholders, partners and external organisations;

- Has Understanding of the relationship between policy and operational procedures with an insight into current government and council policy agenda; and

- Is highly organised with the ability to work to tight timescales with an eye for detail.
