The role

The Parks & Leisure Service is offering an exciting opportunity to join our hard working and committed Business Development team. We are seeking to appoint a Service Development Officer to contribute to shaping the future of the service. The role is responsible for leading on the formation of policy and strategic development proposals alongside project managing a portfolio of medium to large-scale construction projects. Extensive consultation and engagement with internal stakeholders and residents from all of Southwark’s diverse communities is a key part of this role.

About You

You will have a keen interest in parks, open spaces and leisure provision, enjoy teamwork and be capable of managing a small team of specialist consultants and contractors. You will bring with you experience of developing strategic policies and best practice guidance for council services based on research, benchmarking and consultation. You will be an experienced project manager demonstrating excellent budget management, financial reporting and communication skills. You will be capable of producing complex reports and presenting briefings for a wide range of audiences.
