The role

Support Services has an exciting fixed term opportunity for Service Development Officer.

As the Service Development Officer, you will support the operational Customer and Exchequer Services teams in delivering exceptional service. In a dynamic environment focused on continuous improvement, you will play a key role in enhancing both the cost-effectiveness and quality of our services. The role will directly contribute to optimising service delivery, ensuring that we consistently meet and exceed customer expectations while maintaining operational excellence. The role will take the lead to source and implement new ways of working, with a focus on new technology and value for money,

About you:

We are seeking an individual who can work independently with creativity and strategic insight, particularly in project management. You will have strong research abilities to produce and disseminate information, alongside proficiency in statistical applications (e.g. Excel, PowerBI) and report writing, demonstrating excellent oral and written presentation skills. You will be skilled in influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders, and have a good understanding of the relationship between policy and operational procedures with an insight into current government and council policy agenda. You will have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially when working to tight deadlines. You will be a forward thinking with a strategic and methodical approach to service improvement and delivery.

Additional details

We will only consider applications from internal candidates, that are current employees or agency workers on an active assignment. We encourage any internal staff to to gain agreement from their substantive line manager if considering this is as a secondment opportunity.

Please note this opportunity is for a fixed term contract/ secondment for 6 months. 

Full time, 36 hours per week.
