Our Adult Social Care service is looking to recruit a dynamic and strategic Service Development Manager to join our senior management team.

About the Team:
Our team is made up of dedicated and brilliant professionals who bring a wealth of experience and passion to their roles. As the Service Development Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Adult Social Care and work closely with our talented team, which includes the Service Manager for Performance Development and Quality, the Principal Occupational Therapist, the Principal Social Worker, and the External Opportunities Lead.
We value collaboration and support among our team members to drive service improvements and lead organisational and cultural change. Together, we will ensure our services are compliant with national policies and continuously innovate to meet the evolving needs of our community.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Service Development Manager to join our senior management team.
The successful candidate will provide strategic management oversight and ensure the provision of Care Act eligible services to the residents of Southwark. We are looking for someone keen to develop their skills in strategic management, service development, financial acumen, and partnership working.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An understanding of the issues facing local government and their implications for service delivery.
- Experience in service development, particularly our support for unpaid carers.
- Experience in performance management and service transformation.
- Familiarity with Local Government Association (LGA), Peer Reviews, and CQC Assurance Processes.
- Strong communication skills, with experience successfully engaging with staff, council departments, health providers, residents, and service users.
- The ability to work in partnership with health and commissioning colleagues to redesign and develop services that meet the needs of our residents.
About You:
You will be a forward thinking leader with a passion for developing innovative social care services and possess:
- A strong understanding of the challenges facing local government.
- Experience navigating complex financial pressures and increasing service demands.
- Substantial experience in service development, particularly in supporting unpaid carers, with a proven track record in performance management and service transformation.
- Excellent communication skills that enable you to engage effectively with staff, health providers, residents, and service users.
- Experience in partnership working, with the ability to collaborate with health and commissioning colleagues to redesign services that meet our residents' needs.
- The ability to manage budgets and secure funding for critical projects, ensuring the sustainability and success of our services.
