The role
The Role:
This permanent post is based within Corporate Facilities Management providing front line support to internal and external customers and stakeholders reporting building repairs and maintenance tasks.
We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with experience of leading a customer facing team ideally with a background in facilities management. You will manage the Facilities Management service desk team, supervising a team, supporting the council's operational FM delivery to a wide range of buildings used by staff, residents in supported living, customers, service users and members of the public.
The team deal with high volumes of calls and emails, the role is fast paced with pressing timescales and deadlines.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be a problem solver, quick thinker to solutions, have excellent interpersonal, leadership, workload management and ICT skills. The following areas. The selection criteria highlights the following areas:
- Knowledge and experience of Facilities Management service/helpdesk functions
- Proficient in helpdesk software packages, data base functions and MS Office
- Ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with a wide range of contractors, suppliers and property professionals
- Ability to use interpersonal and negotiation skills to communicate both orally and writing to service desk issues, complaints in a professional manner
- Ability to organise, plan and priorities workload effectively to meet deadlines and work under pressure
