The Role

Are you ready to take the helm in maintaining the heartbeat of our Southwark Council’s systems? We're on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Systems Officer to join our dynamic team at Exchequer. The Exchequer team is not just about maintaining systems – we're about driving innovation and making a real impact. Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Senior Systems Officer, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the integrity and availability of the crucial system applications used in Customer & Exchequer Services. 
  • Your day-to-day will involve everything from orchestrating software upgrades and releases to coordinating system reconciliations with audit. 
  • You'll be the go-to expert, lending your technical prowess to support departmental projects and transformational change initiatives. 
  • You'll have the opportunity to step up and lead when needed, assisting in the management of our systems team and ensuring the seamless delivery of Customer & Exchequer Services.
  • You'll handle system queries and correspondence with a blend of professionalism and discretion, ensuring every interaction reflects Southwark Council values.


How will you make an impact as our Senior Systems Officer?   
 

  • Previous Systems experience preferably within a local authority.
  • You will thrive on delivering top-notch, customer-focused service. 
  • An Operator with the utmost efficiency and accuracy is second nature to you, and you're a pro at juggling multiple priorities without breaking a sweat. 
  • You will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders alike. 
  • Strong proficiency with a variety of IT systems and applications.
  • Able to handle sensitive matters, your tact, diplomacy, empathy, and sensitivity will be your greatest assets.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • This role offers flexible home working blended with travel into our London Bridge HQ.

Additional Salary Details

We will only consider applications from INTERNAL candidates, that are current employees or agency workers on an active assignment

The post holder will be prepared to work outside normal hours, including weekends, when necessary.

A basic DBS certificate is required.
