The role:

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Quality Assurance Unit in Southwark Children Services where you can develop your staff management skills.

You will have a keen eye for detail and lead on some of the administrative work of the unit, managing highly sensitive information for the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO referrals) and the administration process.

This role will support and manage Looked After Children’s administration process, supervise administrative staff and work with Independent Reviewing Officers, and also support the Child Protection administration process and work with the Child Protection Coordinators as required.

The post holder will deputise for the Business Support Manager and work with other senior managers in the unit ensuring administrative functions carried out as per the Local and Statutory guidelines.

You will need to manage robust tracking and recording, support the LADO and provide performance data to senior managers.

About You:

• You will have experience of supporting panels/multi-agency meetings and take minutes.

• You will have a conscientious nature to manage staff and be able to work professionally with highly sensitive and confidential information.

• You will need to be confident and be able to act on your own initiative.

• You will need to pay attention to conflicting deadlines and priorities and be able to work independently and push forward the work of the unit.

If you have a good knowledge of Children Social Care and/or Safeguarding Procedures and an excellent understanding of administrative functions in similar setting and have experience of using electronic systems to manage data and recording information, we look forward to your application.

Additional salary details

The Salary is Pro Rata (if Job Share) and the Salary Scale is currently under review (Yearly increment is yet to be applied  - under negotiation).
