The role

We are inviting you to take up this opportunity to join an established and supportive team of senior social workers.

If you thrive on empowering people in crisis situations and enjoy providing a generic response across all client groups then this is the place for you.

The service provides an emergency social work response to urgent situations which arise out of normal office hours.  Although generic we are specialists in Crisis Intervention/Risk Assessment and Protection issues.We work to clear Quality Standards and take pride in offering the best possible response to Adults and Children in crisis. Situated in Children's Division we also have close links to Adults and Mental Health Services.

We have generous training opportunities in all areas of the work – fortnightly Group Supervision and on-going de-briefs from team manager at the end of shifts.

Support during shifts is given by team colleagues/team manager and senior managers.

There is additional access to Fostering support/a strong and vibrant Appropriate Adult Service and access to Agencies offering direct work with Individuals and Families.

Out of Hours issues are fed back to main services and close working relationships ensures a rapid response to a client’s situation.

The area we work in has a varied mix of cultural communities where over 120 languages are spoken.We have all the variety and challenges you would find in any inner city area.                                         

We are committed to a generic service in Southwark out of hours and train our own So if you have an AMHP Qualification and are prepared to undergo Induction/Training re Children's duties/Legislation you would be considered for the post

 

DBS required and holding a current driver’s licence is necessary.
