An exciting opportunity to work in the substance misuse field has emerged following the UK Government's publication of their Drug Strategy in December 2021. This strategy commits all government agencies and public services to collectively combat illegal drug use, its harms, and turn the tide on drug demand.

About the Team:
The role is based within the council's Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT), part of the Children and Adult Services' Joint Commissioning Team.
The DAAT has close links with community safety and public health. It is responsible for the full commissioning cycle of Public Health funded drug and alcohol treatment services for Southwark residents of all ages, as well as leading the commissioning of street outreach services for rough sleepers. Additionally, the team provides leadership for the borough's Combatting Drugs Partnership to facilitate the implementation of the HM Government Drug Strategy at a local level.
About the Role:
This 12 month fixed-term role has arisen from the three-year Supplementary Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Grant (SSMTRG) awarded to the council until March 31st, 2025. The role may be extended further, subject to external confirmation of grant award.
The post is integral to the successful analytical, data, and performance oversight of the borough's commissioned drug and alcohol treatment system and Combatting Drugs Partnership.
Working with the Unit Manager and the team, the post-holder will be responsible for delivering against a range of priority drug and alcohol themes that may change and evolve over time. Priorities include operating as the data and digital lead for the Combatting Drugs Partnership, managing, monitoring, and translating its performance dashboard.
Additionally, the role involves developing datasets and dashboards to inform and influence the Partnership's sub-groups, business as usual performance monitoring processes relating to contractual compliance and the development of bespoke data and analytical work products to inform the work of the Drug & Alcohol Action Team and the Partnership.
About You:
You will have proven experience in data analysis, statistical interpretation, performance management and quality assurance processes in the drug and alcohol field. You will also possess an understanding of the national combatting drugs outcome framework and practical experience, knowledge and understanding of the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System.

Additional Information:
- Full time (36 hours per week); fixed term until 31 March 2025.
- There will be a requirement to attend the team’s base at the council’s Tooley Street offices in line with business need.
- The post-holder will hold a relevant professional degree or qualification in an appropriate discipline, or recent and relevant experience of an equivalent standard
- Enhanced DBS required.
