Southwark is the most fantastic place, filled with inspiring, passionate and caring people. We attract world-class employers, organisations and cultural institutions here. They in turn create jobs, bring in funding, and help make Southwark a great place to work, live and visit.

But, in common with the rest of our city, we are also a place of contrast. While so many thrive, others struggle. Inequalities in health, income and access to opportunities remain, despite efforts to reduce them.

As we look ahead to the future, we want our borough to be ready to grasp every opportunity, and to be strong enough to weather any future crises.

This year we’re launching Southwark 2030 – our shared vision for Southwark developed together with local people, community groups, businesses and public services. Together we’re sharing our ambitions and hopes for the future so we can work together to get there.

To get us there we’re undertaking a broad programme of change to ensure how we work, who we work with, and where we work match our ambition.

The Change Team – part of the Strategy and Communities department – are a crucial part of the engine room driving this change. And we’re expanding our team to meet the challenge.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Change Officer with a background in projects/ programmes, change or service design to join the team working on programmes covering areas like service improvement, organisational change and cross-council collaboration.

As a change officer you’ll lead on all-things business change on one or more programmes. That could include things like developing outcomes frameworks, engaging stakeholders, designing and facilitating knowledge transfer approaches. You’ll need to be flexible, proactive and comfortable working in complex programmes and operating contexts.

If you think you might be just what we need, but you’re not sure whether your skills, qualifications or experience are a perfect fit them please speak to us. We don’t want to miss out on what you have to offer.

The incredible spirit of local people, and their desire to come together to find solutions and help others, is what makes our place great. If you can imagine yourself working with them – alongside an outstanding team of colleagues – to shape Southwark Council for the future we’d love to hear from you.
