The role

Full time position to join a growing team modernising and improving the council’s district heating service

This important role in our Housing Department carries responsibility for managing the development and delivery of a major new low carbon district heat network. This is a unique opportunity for an exceptional individual to carry the project through its commercialisation, consultation, approvals, contracting and delivery phases.

About You:

-To be up to the challenge, you will need to be a strong project manager with proven experience of delivering large multi-stakeholder projects.  You will have a sound grasp of low carbon heat networks, along with housing legislation, resident services, charging mechanisms and council governance and approvals processes.  

-You will be self-motivated, an exceptional communicator and have a proven track record of problem solving to deliver successful outcomes.  You will be able to balance and prioritise multiple work streams, manage diverse stakeholders and keep a tight rein on project risks and budget impacts. 

-You may be required to work outside of normal office hours to attend resident and council meetings, or even court sessions or hearings to represent the Council. Strong IT proficiency and previous experience in a similar role are essential.

-36 hours Monday – Friday, Full time
-This is a x1 permanent position.
