The Role
This key role supports the Head of MySouthwark Homeowners Services. The role leads on all aspects of the Sales and Acquisitions Service ensuring services are effective, quality driven, innovative and customer focused.
The aim of the My Southwark Homeowners is to:
- Seek to ensure that Southwark homeowners are seen to be treated fairly by the council and get a fair deal.
- Provide confidence to the homeowner population that issues affecting them are being monitored and scrutinised properly.
- Seek improved satisfaction among the homeowner population through greater transparency of processes and procedures.
- Oversee the performance of those functions that impact on homeowners.
- Seek assurances that the costs of major works, responsive repairs and other charges are fair and reasonable and that homeowners have had the opportunity to comment on and influence works done and the costs of those works.
The Sales and Acquisitions Team is made up of three teams:
- Specialist Home Purchase Team
- Social Home buy/Shared Ownership
- Acquisitions
About You
The ideal candidate is someone with an extensive background managing and delivering a wide range of homeownership services or, with a legal background who has significant experience of conveyancing.
You will be confident in providing expert legal advice in order to develop policy and procedures that maximise income opportunities and sound governance.

Additional Details
This role is an internal vacancy. As such, it is only open to current employees and agency workers who are currently on active assignment at Southwark Council.
In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for a JNC benefit of £2,274 per annum.
