About the role:
Southwark has a strong record of partnership working in the delivery of safeguarding services. We are looking for an experienced manager with extensive knowledge of children and adult safeguarding issues coupled with proven leadership and influencing skills which will equip you for this high profile role at the centre of Southwark Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) and Southwark Safeguarding Adult Board (SSAB). With a focus on effective inter-agency working, you will share the board’s commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
The post has lead responsibility for ensuring the effectiveness of inter-agency working in relation to services for safeguarding children and adults and in particular to ensure that the Southwark Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) and the Southwark Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) are each an effective body for promoting excellence in multi-agency services to protect children and adults. The post provides professional advice to the SSCP and SSAB and their Subgroups and manages the joint business unit that supports the SSCP and SSAB.

About You
Your professional background and qualifications could be in health, social care or policing, but you will have substantial experience of working in partnership across a range of adult services and sound knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults practice and the statutory framework. Excellent communication and networking skills are essential to guide this team of senior managers from a wide range of agencies.
The post requires a relevant professional qualification, experience of managing safeguarding services, and experience of multi-agency work at a senior level.
