The role

The Role:

Our Street Works Team is responsible for the statutory co-ordination and management of street works carried out by the council as highway authority and statutory undertakers on the public highway in accordance with NRSWA and TMA.

We are looking for an exceptional person with strong organisational and communication skills. Your role will be to undertake the inspection, recording and reporting of street works, highway infrastructure and surface apparatus defects in accordance with street works legislation and associated regulations and codes of practice and other relevant highways legislation.

You will also be required to ensure that all works on the highway are carried out in a safe and legal manner as required under NRSWA and that any breaches are addressed accordingly and to prepare evidence and witness statements against illegal activities

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in street works in accordance with NRSWA.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position should possess recognised New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 accredited training, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Local Authority and highways network operations. They should have proven experience in Street Works in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, indicating their proficiency in adhering to industry regulations. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit strong teamwork abilities while also being capable of working independently. A thorough grasp of the Code of Practice for the Specification for the Reinstatement and Openings of Highways is essential. Furthermore, the candidate should demonstrate excellent customer focus when interacting with members of the public and other third parties, showcasing their interpersonal skills and commitment to providing a high standard of service.
