The Role:
The Building Safety Quality Assurance Manager position is to actively oversee and assure compliance with the requirements for the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and associated statutory and internal building safety management system requirements across the Council’s housing stock.
The post holder will deliver the internal audit, assurance and inspection programme so that associated data and information are of the required quality, that they are appropriately stored, and provide confidence to the council that these requirements are being fulfilled in support of the Building Safety Programme.
About You:
- The Quality Assurance Manager will drive continuous improvements to ensure correct and consistent outcomes are being achieved.
- Leading the Quality Assurance Team, the post holder will have excellent leadership and Strong supervisory skills.
- Provide support to the Quality Assurance officers to ensure the framework adheres to regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Effectively contribute to the Quality Assurance Team to provide ongoing reassurance that accurate data and information pertaining to whole building safety and statutory compliance associated with residential properties owned and managed by Southwark Council are both in place and available with a direct report to the Head of Building Safety.
- Actively contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the Building Safety Management System (BSMS) by enabling Policy, Procedure and guidance for a whole building safety system to support the councils’ governance framework so it accurately reflects day-to-day operations demonstrating its effectiveness through the gathering of user feedback, change management, communication and reporting.
- The ideal candidate will have Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal, written communication, organisational skills and attention to detail.
