About the role:

The post holder will be supporting key partnership boards and collaborating across agencies to refresh the Health and Wellbeing strategy and bring alignment across key policies. They will work in conjunction with the Head of Place and Partnerships, to ensure effective strategy development, management and delivery of key Council and Division priorities. The role supports a health in all policies approach to developing healthy places and addressing the wider determinants of health.

The post-holder will lead and manage public health programmes to improve health and reduce health inequalities in the Southwark population. The post holder will provide advice and support across key transformation programmes with key partners e.g. housing, transport, leisure and culture. Specific programmes being developed currently include a creative health programme, a refreshed exercise referral offer and a co-produced resident health and wellbeing programme on estates.

The post will manage a band 11 policy and programme officer for built environment and healthy places. Associated budget management will also be expected relevant to different programme areas.
