The Roles

The Public Health Division are looking to recruit two Public Health Officers to work with us on different portfolio areas. The roles will also incorporate some duties in responding to COVID-19 and supporting our plans for recovery and renewal.

We are currently advertising for the following permanent positions:

  • Policy Officer Health Protection
  • Public Health Analyst

The post holders will be accountable to one of our Public Health Head of Programmes.

These roles will involve working with other members of the Public Health Division, wider council and NHS, in the provision of health needs assessments, programme improvement, project management, commissioning and health protection support and guidance development.  They will also be involved with community engagement projects, including with BAME, homeless and marginalised groups.

About You

You must have excellent communication partnership, analytical and report writing skills. You will be highly organised and be comfortable working within a reactive environment. Working in a fast paced complex political, outcomes oriented and frequently challenging environment, the focus is on the delivery and management of multiple programmes and projects to high expectations within tight timescales. A strong commitment to addressing the wider determinants of health and to tackle health inequalities is expected.
