The role
NHS South East London Clinical Commissioning Group (soon to be Integrated Care System (ICS)) is the statutory body responsible for commissioning healthcare services to south east London’s 1.9 million residents of the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
The CCG buys services from hospitals, ambulance service and community service providers.
South East London CCG covers all GP practices in the area and is overseen by a governing body, which is responsible for making decisions about healthcare. The governing body includes GPs, nurses, a hospital doctor and other healthcare professionals and patient representatives. This is supported by other prime committees including Borough Based Boards and from July 2022 the Local Care Partnership governance arrangements, which will have delegated responsibility for commissioning local services
South East London CCG’s key priorities include:
• Providing more systematic and proactive management of chronic disease to improve health outcomes
• Empowering patients and encouraging self-care
• Integrating models of care
• Ensuring urgent care systems maximise appropriate access of care for patients
• Improving access to services.
Are you passionate about improving health inequalities? Do you want to work within a local care partnership that is committed to improving outcomes for residents? If so we want to hear from you to discuss an exciting opportunity for an experienced programme manager to work in the Southwark Healthy Populations Team.
We are looking for a dynamic Public Health Improvement Programme Manager to join our friendly and dedicated team. The successful postholder will lead on the strategic planning and delivery of a range of public health programmes including, but not limited to, national screening and vaccination and immunisation programmes.
Screening and immunisation programmes are two of the safest and most cost-effective ways of protecting individuals and communities from preventable illness and disease. Nevertheless, coverage locally in Southwark for screening and several vaccine programmes has fallen below both locally and nationally agreed targets and there is unequivocal agreement that there are actions that could be taken to help increase uptake and reduce inequalities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent project management experience, strong communication skills, initiative and determination who can help drive change in a complicated system.
The post will transfer from the CCG to the new Integrated Care Board on 1st July 2022.
