The Role:
Project Support Officer (Education) – Improving Mental Health & Resilience in Schools (IMHARS) Programme
Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s, young people’s and families’ lives, especially to their personal development, emotional wellbeing and mental health?
Do you have experience of managing and communicating with various stakeholders and partners across different organisations?
Do you want to play a key role in the effective implementation, delivery and evaluation of the IMHARS project plans, including the strategic and operational messaging to Southwark’s schools, nurseries and colleges?
The Project Support Officer (Education) is responsible for organising, coordinating and delivering the administrative and project support functions related to the delivery of the “Improving Mental Health & Resilience in Schools (IMHARS)” Programme in Education.
Working effectively with senior managers and external partners, is a varied role for a multi-skilled team player. You will be involved in working collaboratively and cooperatively - often within and across Council Directorates, project teams and stakeholder groups - to gather information and coordinate IMHARS programme and project work, in addition to contributing to the development of professional networks.
You’ll be willing to get stuck in and work across multiple project priorities – your passion for the school improvement and making a difference to pupils in education consistently shining through.

You must have:
- Excellent project coordination, analytical and communications skills to support the planning, preparation, implementation, delivery and evaluation of project deliverables.
- Great people skills, to be able to get the information you need, in the way that you need it, at the right time, from a wide range of busy people who might not have you at the top of their priority list
- Excellent organisational skills: to manage a busy, ever- changing list of project tasks
- A love of deadlines: meeting them and setting them
- A passion for working on challenging, meaningful, high-profile projects and programmes

Please note this role is being offered on a fixed-term contract basis for a duration of 9 months.
