The role:
The Programme, Policy & Change Manager based in the Housing Solutions service provides strategic leadership whilst delivering innovation and change dynamically within a customer-focussed environment.
The role also oversees and is directly involved in performance reporting and data provisions. The quality of the data is paramount and is a statutory requirement, reported to Central Government and forms the basis for future funding.
In addition, it encompasses the management of not only a project team but also the support team functions across housing demand, housing supply and general business support within Housing Solutions.
About You:
- You will require a sound knowledge of the local and national challenges that result in homelessness and a passion for providing quality customer services often to some of the most vulnerable residents in the borough.
- You will also be required to strategically co-ordinate programmes and projects for the benefit of customers by promoting and leading on channel shift and new ways of working in light of Covid 19 and ensuring the service is Fit for the Future.
- Crucially, preparation work is underway for development of the Borough’s next Homelessness Prevention & Rough Sleeping Strategy and Action Plan. This is not only a statutory requirement but also represents one of the Council’s most important strategic documents. The Programme, Policy & Change Manager will be the lead for this exciting activity.
- Finally, you will display leadership expertise to drive change, promote partnership working and have the ability to operate effectively at a political and senior level.
Additional Information:
The position is initially a six-month secondment position through to 30 June 2022 with the possibility of being extended. Due to the short-term nature of this initial period, the successful candidate would be expected to have an excellent understanding of the role and/or an ability to be an effective and confident self-starter, although there will be a strong team to support this role.
