The Role:
The Asset Management Procurement Team (AMPT) is part of the Housing and Modernisation Division. The teams sits alongside asset management working closely with Engineering & Compliance, Housing Information and Investment Planning, Investment including Major Works, the Building Safety team and Repairs and Maintenance.
The AMPT officers deal with the full procurement lifecycle touching all elements of the process from researching markets, assisting client officers through the tender process, drafting tender documentation, running tenders on the council’s eProcurement system, training evaluators, evaluating tenders to reviewing performance and compliance procedures. The AMPT tender a wide range of works and services for asset management to improve or extend the life of a building, maintain council homes for our residents and keep them safe whilst achieving value for money.
About You:
You will have a good knowledge of public sector procurement law, current housing legislation and social issues influencing service delivery, performance and programme management systems and their implementation and ideally, a relevant qualification or working towards one.
You must have experience of procuring within a public sector housing context and have a good understanding of the needs of our residents. You will be flexible, have excellent IT skills, able to analyse and evaluate tender information, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, have effective interpersonal skills, strong planning and prioritizing skills, the ability to work on your own initiative, be self-motivated and have a good eye for detail.
