This role is 18 month fixed term, full time, air quality projects officer in the environmental protection team in regulatory services
You will manage and lead on high profile, innovative air quality improvement projects with a budget of over £1 million, and will assist on others
The projects include schools air quality starter grants, air quality related schools projects, asthma friendly schools, active travel, air quality alerts redevelopment, leasing zero emission vehicles, promoting cargo bikes, promoting a low emission logistics consolidation centre, car free day events, and extension of the SCA
You will identify future air quality projects, help deliver the borough’s air quality action plan and identify new sources of funding and bid for them. You will take part in project teams and professional and academic pan London forums. You will maintain and update your knowledge through continuing professional development. You will manage air quality monitoring contracts

About You
You will be an experienced, competent and professional environmental / air quality expert, with good understanding of air pollution issues, atmospheric chemistry and the regulatory framework for air quality management., and project and contract management experience. You will be thorough, well organised, comfortable chairing meetings, good report writing skills, have excellent presentation skills, and be able to present in a wide variety of formats to stakeholders. You will demonstrate excellent data recording skills, good numeracy skills and be able to calculate bias adjustments. you will be able to manipulate Excel spreadsheets for air quality data, project finances, and project planning. You will be able to travel to site and and be sufficiently able bodied to climb a ladder

Additional Information:
- This is a Fixed Term contract for 18 months
- Standard 36 hours Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend working occasionally required
- Qualifications needed: A graduate degree, or equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject and environmental or air quality management experience
