The role

The Role:

This is an opportunity to be part of a major programme of improvement, hone your specialist skills and knowledge alongside our systems suppliers, our digital transformation and technology services and industry leading businesses such as Microsoft and Hitachi.

We are looking for experience in the underlying technologies but experience of named systems would be an advantage.

We are looking for people with experience or an understanding of the business areas we support and of working in a large, complex system with multiple stakeholders.

About you

You will be an excellent communicator able to build relationships and confidence at all levels both internally and with external stakeholders and suppliers.

You will have well developed technical skills and experience of working in an Agile environment.

You will be an excellent team player with analytical and creative problem solving skills.

You will have a good understanding of the services in Adults or Children’s Social Care, Education, Early Years or Family Support and be familiar with the business processes.

You will understand the importance of good data management and be passionate about transformation and change to improve outcomes for staff and service users.

This role is supporting the Capita One Education system, knowledge of the system and the areas of business it supports is essential.

About Us

Southwark Children’s and Adults (ChAd) Systems team provides support for the IT systems used in Adults and Children’s Social Care, Education, Early Years and Family support.

We have embarked on an ambitious programme of transformation with investment in systems development and transformation projects and additional investment in staff.

We are now looking to recruit to a Principal Applications Analyst for our Capita One Education System to work alongside a number of key roles (from entry level support in our helpdesk through training and report writing roles and business analysts to support core systems) to support the transformation programme and ensure we have the specialist skills and expertise to support our systems to be fit for the future as part of our Southwark 2030 vision.

Working arrangements

Southwark does not offer 100% remote working or hybrid working and there is an expectation staff will attend our main office at Tooley Street on a regular basis for face to face meetings.

Since COVID we have waived the eligibility period for staff to apply for non-statutory flexible working which can include an agreement to regular working from home.
