The role

Do you have the drive and inter personal skills to manage a customer-focused team dealing with a range of services to homeowners ? We are recruiting a pre-assignment manager to work in Homeownership Services based at Tooley Street, London SE1.

As part of Exchequer Services the successful candidate will lead a high quality, customer focused service to our leaseholders and freeholders who are selling or re-mortgaging ensuring that we maximise the collection of income to the Council.

This is a diverse role which requires a wide range of skills including but not limited to: the application and management of financial controls; effective team leadership; demonstrably strong I.T. skills and a commitment to performance management.

You will work closely with the other teams within Homeownership Services and also internally across the Council including Housing Finance, Asset Management, Financial Control and Processing and Legal Services.

You will require knowledge of key legislation relating to service charges and experience of using related debtors management systems . Experience of the residential conveyancing process is also essential to the role.

This position offers the opportunity for you to use a wide range of skills and create an impact on the development and delivery of policies and operational plans.

The key elements of the role are as follows:

• To be responsible the management of the council’s pre-assignment team handling all sales and re-mortgage enquiries and building insurance claims. To ensure good governance, and that priorities are met in accordance with relevant Council policies and procedures.

• To lead on service expansion or shared services where business efficiencies are achieved.

• To take a strategic lead on the procurement, development and management of the Council’s pre-assignment team to ensure continuous improvement in accordance with the Council’s modernise agenda, digital transformation and modern ways of working.

• Ensure agreed working practices, procedures and legislation are applied correctly, dealing with all enquiries in a polite and professional manner, remaining customer focussed at all times.
