The role

We have two planning team leader roles available. One is in the Strategic Applications Team and the other is in the Old Kent Road team, both teams reporting to the Head of Strategic Development.

The Old Kent Road Team delivers the development management and regeneration function in this opportunity area. The Old Kent Road opportunity area is one of the largest regeneration projects in London with over 2,000 homes on site, 9,500 homes consented and more schemes providing a mix of housing, workspaces, parks and high street uses in the pipeline.

The Strategic Applications Team manage the largest applications in the rest of the borough, including large regeneration schemes in Canada Water, the Aylesbury Estate and Peckham.

About you

As a lead officer you will be expected to take responsibility for decisions and recommendations regarding complex planning applications, including large residential and commercial schemes in a dynamic and exciting part of London.  Both teams also provide an opportunity to help shape planning policy and other related planning and regeneration projects and activities that will have far reaching and lasting effects on the development of the borough and which have significant impacts on the local environment, economy and community.

Our commitment to you is to invest in your learning and development, through our regular in-house training seminars to more formal learning in the form of management qualifications and external training, for you to develop your career.
