The role
The Role:
Southwark is recruiting a Planning Policy Officer on a 9 month basis (Grade 10) in the Planning Policy and Monitoring Innovation Team. If people who are currently employed as planners in other teams such as Development Management are successful in moving teams then this will leave vacancies. Where this happens the management team may appoint to planner roles in these teams from this round of recruitment.
The Planning Policy and Monitoring Innovation Team is an exciting opportunity to be part of policy implementation, guidance and monitoring, contributing to council priorities including affordable homes, community engagement and the climate emergency.
About You
The candidate will require a good understanding of planning policy and monitoring. Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with different departments across the council and an understanding of how to determine important issues that require escalation.
The roles will be challenging, requiring candidates to be enthusiastic and passionate about learning and contributing to the wide variety of work undertaken by the division. The post offers exciting development opportunities and post holders will be supported to attain RTPI membership.
