The Role
You will be required to procure individual packages of support for children, adults and families including: continuing care and care packages for older people and adults with mental health, learning and/or physical disabilities, requiring specialist assessment. You will help promote the take up of Direct Payments which provides Southwark Resident's with greater choice over the way they receive social care services. The team works at pace to source a high number of services for children and adults in a timely way and continually prioritises risk.
You will be required to undertake negotiations of individual placements and packages within social care. You will contribute information about the quality, availability and sustainability of the market for health and social care services and keep accurate records and reports on placements and financial activities.
This post will maintain positive working relationships with care providers to collect and maintain accurate information on the cost, quality and value for money of services and their compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

About you
You should be customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills. We are looking for a strong team player who is both able to manage their own caseload whilst working collaboratively with others.
You should have drive, enthusiasm, flexible and a positive attitude with attention to detail. You will also have excellent organisational skills, good IT and numeracy skills and enjoy working in a busy environment. In addition, you will be able to negotiate effectively with providers ensuring that the Council sources quality services whilst ensuring good value for money.
