The role

About Southwark:

Southwark is a large, ambitious and progressive council with a ‘can do’ attitude and enviable reputation. As a council, we are successful, passionate and forward-thinking. We are committed to our ‘Fairer Futures for All’ promise which ensures that our residents and businesses are central to everything we do.

Southwark has a varied mix of cultural communities, where over 120 languages are spoken.

We celebrate the rich diversity of our communities, and are keen to recruit individuals who have a particular commitment to engaging with and learning from the communities we serve.

The Role:

Pause Southwark supports women who have experienced – or are at risk of – repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care.

As Practice Lead you will provide leadership to an individual Pause Practice to ensure the implementation and delivery of an integrated package of health, therapeutic and social support.

You will be persuasive and able to recruit and motivate partners to provide an integrated service provision for women with complex needs, delivering positive life changing outcomes.

You’ll be a big part of a small team, where everyone takes a flexible and collaborative approach to work, and is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable and marginalised groups.

About You:

Are you a creative and influential individual, who is passionate about reducing the number of children being removed into care, by supporting women to bring about change in their lives?

Are you an experienced health or social care practitioner – in lived experience leadership, nursing, drugs and alcohol, psychology, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, or social work?

Are you excited about the prospect of leading a mature and skilled team to support women grappling with complex health and social disadvantage?

We are looking for someone with the right leadership qualities of energy, compassion, creativity and responsiveness, over the amount of leadership experience or the number of qualifications they might have. This role can be challenging – being able to remain constructive and collaborative at all times is key.  Being thirsty to listen to and learn from others is paramount.

We are keen to hear from candidates who are interested in stepping up into a leadership role, as well as those have significant experience of leadership.
