Our Older Persons and Physical Disability Service is looking for passionate and dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our amazing team and help make a difference today!

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Southwark Council’s Paediatric Occupational Therapy team. Based in our bright, modern offices in vibrant Peckham, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and their families across the borough.

As part of a small, supportive team, you’ll:

  • Manage a varied caseload supporting children with disabilities
  • Deliver strengths-based interventions to help residents build independence
  • Provide assessments, equipment, and minor/major adaptations (e.g. stairlifts, hoists)
  • Work closely with families, schools, and multi-agency teams
  • Receive regular training and support, including CPD events and specialist sessions

About You:

You’ll be a compassionate and motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist who is either experienced or enthusiastic about developing in paediatric care.

You will also bring:

  • A willingness to grow your knowledge and skills in paediatrics
  • Strong core OT skills and a flexible, person-centred approach
  • Experience in or interest in developing skills in major adaptations, provision of specialist equipment, moving and handling and risk assessment
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a multi-agency team
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaborative working skills

You’ll also have opportunities to supervise unqualified staff and students, supporting your own professional development and leadership journey.

About the Team:

You'll be part of a friendly and experienced team including a Paediatric Advanced Practitioner, an Occupational Therapy Assistant, and the wider adult OT team for ongoing peer support. We’re committed to continual learning and development, offering specialist training, peer forums, and regular CPD sessions.

Additional Information:

  • A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent), with current HCPC registration is required.
