The Role:
This is an important role, responsible for the creation and improvement of community sport and physical activity opportunities across the borough, especially in our award winning green spaces – engaging residents about activity opportunities that excite them, creating improved places that people want to be active to enhance their health and quality of life.
Key priorities include: Contract management of our tennis coaching contracts, stakeholder engagement and delivery of park outdoor gym improvements, sport club engagement and support, work with providers and partners on projects to deliver innovative outdoor community sports and physical activities with measurable health outcomes – procuring, commissioning, reviewing, monitoring and evaluating to develop services. The role will require significant energy and enthusiasm; you will have the drive to ensure that our service remains dynamic, impactful and provides outstanding customer service.

We are looking for an energetic and influential individual to join the team working across the borough to help us shape our services for future generations. We want someone who has the drive to build on what’s good and to have a clear focus on how to make it even better.
We are looking for someone who has excellent sport and community development knowledge and importantly, you’ll need in-depth knowledge and practical experience of project delivery and service improvement in a customer-focused environment.
Ideally, you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent, with direct experience of most of the following areas – sport for community development, project management, customer engagement, external funding applications, and how all of these contribute to tackling health inequalities.
Additional salary details
The post holder will be required to work outside of normal working hours to meet the needs of the service
The post holder may be required to work in other operational areas to meet the needs of the service.
