About the Role:
The Careand Support Team is a specialist mental health social care team. We provide assessment, review and interventions to service users with careand support needs arising predominantly from their mental health difficulties.
The team comprises social workers, occupational therapists and assistant practitioners. We also work closely alongside South London andMaudsley Mental Health NHS Trust, NHS Primary care services and a range of voluntary sector partners.
As an occupational therapist within the team, you will work closely with the social workers and assistant practitioners to support clients in their ongoing recovery journey, supporting their independence though prevention and reduction of need.
You willhold a caseload of OT cases andprovide specialist OT consultation to the wider team. Your work will be predominantly based within the community, supporting clients to function more effectively within their home environments and their local communities. You will use the outcomes of your OT assessment and intervention to help inform reablement focused care plans of social care support.
You will also be responsible for a smaller generic caseload, reviewing social care needs under the Care Act 2014 to ensure that these are being met by reablement-focused support packages.
About You:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced mental health occupational therapist. You will be passionate about providing high quality person-centred care and supporting adults with mental health difficulties to maximise their wellbeing and independence within the community.
You will have a working knowledge of the MOHO and theCare Act 2014 and a commitment to continuing professional development.

In recognition of the contribution of Occupational Therapy, this post attracts an additional one-off recruitment and retention payment of £2300. The first payment is made when the post holder starts, and the second payment is made after the probation period ends, and will be made to those continuing employment with LBS after that review*
