The Role:

Orient Street Short Breaks Respite Service is for children and adults with learning disabilities. It provides a safe, caring and stimulating living environment for children and young people with learning disabilities. As a Waking Night Residential Support Worker your focus would be on providing this safe and caring environment while also offering opportunities for resident’s to maximise their independence and engage in ordinary living and community life. This includes the provision of personal care, domestic care, manging health and safety and implementing activities for residents.

You will:

- Provide support to children and adults during the night ensuring they are supported in a sensitive and person centred approach in accordance with the individual’s care and support plan. ensuring people are kept healthy and self.

- To provide a swift response to any incidents or concerns during the night shift and where appropriate follow the on-call escalation policy.

- Maintain records contemporaneously through out the night and be able to update plans and risk assessments as needed.

We are looking for applicants with experience of supporting children and or adults with learning disabilities to join our team as a Waking Night Residential Support Worker.

Your work shift pattern will require you to work 4 days a week on a rolling rota that will cover all 7 days of the week over a given period. Shifts are typically 9:30pm - 7:30am.

About You:

Post holders will hold a Level 4 Children’s Young People’s and Family Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard or equivalent education (approved by assessors) or be prepared to undertake this course on successful completion of their probation.
