The Role:
We are looking for Newly Qualified Social Workers to start their ASYE in September 2023 to complete the ASYE program for;
* Assessment and Intervention
* Safeguarding and Family Support Service
* Children in Care 0 – 15
* Youth Justice Service
We have a number of different roles within Southwark Children’s Services and we are seeking kind, compassionate and skilful social workers who have the potential, commitment and dedicated to providing the children, young people and families with the outstanding support they need and deserve.
Our services are always thrilled to have newly qualified social workers on board, supporting the next generation in their careers and beyond, putting in place the foundations to achieve excellence in practice. We have an outstanding ASYE programme supported by two highly experienced and dedicated Professional Educators who co-ordinate a rich and rewarding development offer. You will also have a dedicated ASYE assessor.
Regardless of which post you are interested in, we will ensure you are exposed to a wide range of cases where you can apply and develop your theory, knowledge and experience.
You will be required to hear the voice of the child or young person, assess family strengths and identify support needs and safety plans with partner agencies to ensure the right support is put in place to enable our children and young people to achieve good outcomes.
You will gain proficiency in working with children in need, at child protection level and as a corporate parent, developing strong threshold application, assessment and direct work skills.
You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence following Skills for Care and Southwark ASYE guidelines and evidenced by practice including direct observations, critical reflection logs, learning and development plans, attendance at workshops and mandatory training.
