South Dock Marina is London’s largest marina and is owned and operated by the London Borough of Southwark. The marina has 200 berths with many of them occupied for residential purposes. We are also the only small craft boatyard in London, lifting and moving vessels up to 20 tonnes. It also manages a number of other waterways on the Rotherhithe peninsula.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Marina Electrician and maintenance technician to work within our existing operations team.
The Marina Electrician has a varied role and will manage the maintenance of all marina equipment and infrastructure, which includes the following: floating jetties, hydraulic lock gates, lifting bridge, cranes, plant, electrical systems, work boats, and boat moving equipment.
In this role you will manage other dock masters assisting in maintenance tasks requiring specialist knowledge and supervise two water wardens.
You will also be required to undertake duties and responsibilities in accordance with the council’s health and safety policy, and health and safety legislation.
About You:
This is an exciting role for which we are looking for;
- A proactive and engaging individual who can drive projects forward.
- The engineer is responsible for managing, planning and implementing the marina maintenance program in conjunction with the Harbour Master.
- The ideal candidate should be a qualified electrician with experience of both domestic and industrial electrical systems.
- We are looking for a person who must be an industrious individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic, has the ability to work well as a team or individually and can show good customer service skills.
